Formatting a Story: Alice in Wonderland

Objective
In this assignment you will learn more about setting styles in a word processor and practice editing a document that is formatted very poorly.
You will learn how to
- control the text wrap around graphics and add special formatting to graphics
- add a drop cap
You will review
- setting margins
- creating headers and footers
- modifying style settings
- using Find/Replace to remove and change words and invisible characters.
- deleting unwanted tabs, paragraph marks, and page breaks.
Instructions
This is the first chapter of Alice in Wonderland. It has been butchered by someone who doesn't know how to type or format correctly. Your job is to correct all of the many mistakes.
This exercise takes you beyond anything we've done so far. It teaches as well as gives you practice. You are expected to learn this material, so pay attention as you work through these steps!
- Click to open the story.
- Save it in your folder with an appropriate file name. Save in the 2007 file format: docx.
When you have the story saved in your folder, go to page 2 to begin editing.
